Regarding throwing...

Does the type of item being thrown currently have an effect?

For example, if I throw a small unsharpened rock, is it just as likely to kill someone as a platinum warhammer? Does it go by weight, by size, or is everything effectively the same?

I think it's just like if you hit the enemy in melee with the object, only it uses your throwing skill instead of whatever skill it'd normally use in melee.

So, a legendary thrower tossing a spear would be the same as a legendary spearman sticking somebody with the same spear.

Sharp rocks do more damage then non-sharp rocks. I think there might be a quality bonus too, but I'm not sure how that works with rocks. I think quality makes them more accurate?

When you throw something, you make it accelerate as fast as an arrow or bolt fired from a bow or crossbow. The type mostly does not have an effect as the damage is [BLUNT].

Like throwing a vermin type creature (lets say...a fluffy wambler which is basically fluff) into a bronze colossus would kill it if it hit the head.

Sadly, throwing or firing any ranged projectile cannot be aimed, but you can just throw stuff everywhere and they can kill. (Like a rope reed fiber sock killing an unarmed peasant or a goblin corpse killing a goblin...).

with skill you get better at hiting the better parts of the body as well as geting the best attack type(i.e. a spear will hit with its stab attack not butt attack)

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

You don't actually throw as hard as bows or crossbows, and this can be changed with [MAX_VEL] and other more fun tags. But throwing is considerably faster, and it's usually the better option in most situations. It's also a blunt attack, unlike bows or crossbows.

That was a glitch that came from fluffy wamblers having zero thickness, so they acted as an infinitely sharp blade.
