Is it possible to "bait" large creatures into cage traps with food they like? I know bears steal booze, but I remember a bunch of walruses raiding my fishery back in the day. Needs !!science!!

Only time I can remember animals stealing food was with a polar bear and some dwarven wine, if that helps.

Many animals will attempt to steal your food.  Some will steal anything they can grab.  All you have to do is set up your system and wait.

I bait FBs into trap complexes to meet a spiky doom with turkeys or even just doors all the time.

Prepared meals works too, in one of my current forts I get swarms of buzzards and vultures raiding my partially outdoor dining hall, resuling in announcment spam and blood everywhere.
