I'm playing as elves.

Ok, I realize I shouldn't be saying this, especially not on the Bay12 Forums. The traditional response to such blasphemers is

MAGMAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

but I'm playing this differently. I'm not just squatting in the dirt smoking pot, I'm building a huge treehouse, and producing the sort of things elves normally produce.(Wood carvings, cloth, pointy sticks, etc.) And THEN I smoke pot. Current population 13, and my retreat's name is A˙evamina, Tallforests. Any ideas on how to make my elves more dorfy?

Crafting things out of wood! You better not be killing trees! What are you, a DWARF???

(honestly, I can't figure out how elves get all that wood stuff when they think cutting trees is a crime.)

I forgot to mention, I modded so that elves get dwarf nobles, although with different names. I'm wondering what's going to happen when I get a mayor who mandates metal.

Their wood is kosher.

Anyway, okay? I don't think I could do that. I am a dwarf in that I like to just dig myself a place. Building aboveground things is not something I do.

I always imagined elves got their wood the same way Night Elves did. They have some kind of magical thing that does it. Too bad you can't do that in DF... yet.

You should raise a memorial for all the fallen trees on your map. Poor non-sentient, brown and green things, their memory will not be forgotten !

This is a valid point. I also love the elves, particularly their supple women, but I would not wish to be one.
