Can we leave a "blank" spot in a design to accommodate a future module?

We need to do something big. The Chinese beat us into space, so we need to one-up them. We need to put something in the sky that'll broadcast back to us...

Research
Dr Faust makes the thrusters output more power per unit fuel whilst keeping it as stable, and the same mass.

Height: 9 meters
Weight:1775kg
Thrust: 2000kg to LEO
Payload: 225kg
-Single Stage Hull (9m) = 675kg
-Small Thruster (1m) = 100kg
-Small Fuel Tanks (8m) =1000kg
Building
N/A
Missions
Launch an 'El Abejorro'
Other
N/A

Expenses:
1000

What do you want to implement? As long as it's nothing very structural(Like changing height), you can use a design roll to incorporate it.

Also, if you want to research something that isn't clearly defined by current rules, please do so.
Also, the rockets didn't survive the landing( they burned up in the atmosphere), i just forgot to take them out of the spoiler.

((I think I have $1000 to much, as I spent it during my last turn.
Could you include our announced goals and their due dates somewhere?))

Morale at the CHASE facilities was excellent following their success as the first program into space. Xin Su sat in his office, enjoying a fine Huangjiu wine sent as congratulations from the Great President himself, while meeting with three underlings to discuss their next goal.

"Our Scottish counterparts announced their intention of being the first to launch a live being into space. We can't match their funding. We might be able to beat them anyway, but we risk antagonizing the Scots. We're uncertain of the near-future goals of our other rivals. I suggest we simply attempt to position something in a stable orbit."

"Let's do that then."

Research:
Lab 1st floor: Solid Fuel.
Lab 2nd floor: Two-stage rocket.

Design & Production
None.

Construction
None.

Missions:
Launch the other Flare. (If solid fuel is done, use that and try to get a stable orbit [There's a non-zero chance of success. Probably.])

Other:
Improve prestige from my launch.
-$1000: Press conference
Announce the new CHASE goal of getting a radio-transmitting object in a stable orbit within 5 years.

Total expenses: -$3000

Wait, can the Redstone I launch my satellite into orbit? And how much does my satellite cost? Also my turn:
Research:
Dr Smith will further improve the reliability of the small thruster.
Design:
None this year.
Construction
Build an additional Redstone I.
Launch:
Launch the prototype Redstone I.
Other:
Announce my plans to put an artificial satellite into orbit within 4 years.
Total Cost: $650 for construction.

The redstone one unfortunately can't put the sattelite in orbit. Thrust required: 1771
It could launch the sattelite, but it hasn't got the power to let it orbit.

The sattelite costs 500

Edit:KAshykk, I forgot to factor in your promise, you got 1 prestige for it.

Basically I want to design a rocket that can carry that module I haven't finished researching yet.

Depending on the type of module, Yes or no.

...Well, I suppose designing is free since I'm an engineer.  Going to edit a design in.

Vladimir sat down on his desk. He was´nt happy. He had fallen behind the others even further by some simple misstakes. Well, he had to sort that upp later.
Now, where is that application, ah there! Eliminate the tourist who tried, and failed to sneak up to the other project. He clearly doesn´t have enough faith in Communism.
But there was a lot of other work to do aswell. He started to design a proper rocket. Who will bring the russians to infinity and beyond. Oh and let the scientist to start working on a better engine. We will need that in the future.

Research:
1:  Research a new, better engine.
2: Work on a computingsystem to make space travel safer.

Design:
Name: Papa bear.
Height: 7 meters

-Single Stage Hull (7m)
-Small Thruster (1m)
-Small Fuel Tanks (6m)

Construction:
None

Launch:

 Prototype Papa bear.

"YOU IDIOTS STRAPPED THE HORSE TO THE ROCKET?" Friedrich's head hit the desk. repeatedly. "Sweet Mother of...i thought you would put it in some kind of capsule before launching it. Are you guys retarded or something? GET OUT OF MY EYES!" he took a deep breath and then opened a bottle of whisky. Stupid freckin'...he emptied two glasses before calling the research department.
"I want you to research a payload for the Regained model, both of you, an Aerosol-Rocket-Bomb. Just dont strap horses to it this time...please?"

Research:
Start Research on a  Aerosol-Payload for the Regained Model.

Design:
N/A

Launch:

Construction:
IF Research is successful build a prototype with the Aerosol-Payload on it

Other:
Contact Military on our Aerosol-Payload idea and if they are interested...

Expenses:
1000 (Research)
750 (Protoype-Construction)

OOC: i actually meant that somebody would put it in a capsule or somethign...seriously...who would strap a horse to a rocket?

Actually, if I made some improvements to the Redstone I or my satellite, would I need to do anything to launch the satellite using the rocket?
