Or better yet, in a 10x10 glass box in the exact middle of the carnage, from which he can watch the factions battle it out. He can have a little farm and a still to keep himself going.

That didn't last long, huh? Shame, cause binary's cool. Anyway, an important message: I will be changing my names on every username based thing I use to ASCIt on/around 10/1. Consolidating, I guess you could say.

So, in theory, I could get half of my fortress infected by werewolves, and the other half infected by vampires, and start the ultimate loyalty cascade?

I have to wonder, how would you sociopaths DF players quarantine and combat the were-beast threat?  It's more of an epidemic than an invasion really, something which I haven't seen any defenses against, so far.

Well really we have ways to prevent contaminant spreading via other means, like blood, or dust. Having to defend against dwarf to dwarf contamination will just be another thing to worry about. So rather than just slap a waterfall at many of your entrances for extra safety, you might need air locks for many of them with the ultimate decontaminant poised for action.

You mean rooms that can locked down at a moment's notice?  A panic room for nobles your important dwarves?

I am curious whether doors/hatches will be effected by dorfwolves like they are by invaders. My initial plan for separating the dorfwolf and the just bitten involved a retracting bridge, but that would require someone to still be human so they can operate the lever.
Of course, what I could do is have a room coated with cage traps (I am pretty sure dorfwolves will be trap-immune) to catch and keep safe the bitten if they fall unconscious (one of my militia once survived a titan attack that way).

I wish dorfs with "very resistant to disease" and "hardly ever gets sick" would be more resistant, or even immune to the virus.  It would be awesome if your most powerful soldier turned out be lycanism resistant, and he would slaughter EVERYONE else.
