when your online no one ever does, because its quicker not to,

Yes, it's quicker for most people to not type punctuation, but quicker by a fraction of a second. This is a forum, which means you have all the time in the world to type, edit, and submit your posts. There's no race. Take your time and check your posts before you submit them and everyone will appreciate it.

If you're a non-native speaker of English, simply point this out and of course people will not be so harsh in judging your grammar. However, there is a clear difference between someone who isn't aware of a mistake and someone who simply does not care. As others have said, it's respectful to the other forum-goers to make an effort to type properly.

Here's a handy reference for you:

you're =  you are: "You're doing it wrong."
your = possessive: "Please check your posts before submitting them."

"," is not the same as "."

lol = "Laughing out loud." It is not punctuation or a filler. If you're not actually doing laughing out loud, it's pointless to say that you are. If you are laughing out loud at your own writing (as in, not in response to something another person has posted), there's no need to tell us how funny you think you are.

If you can keep a few rules like this, you're welcome here. On the topic of the actual thread, no, I don't play Runecraft. I tried it for about 20 minutes before deciding it was simply everything I hate about online games with all of the fun stuff stripped away, so I left pretty quick.

As I stated earlier, whenever I try to play, I get bored quickly. Roguelikes have more replay value anyways.

*Shrugs* Runescape was actually a pretty decent game; and the fact that Jagex managed to create it all on a Java app is something to praise. Of course, in recent years it has gone WAY downhill, but it used to be a very nice game. I hit 105 or something before I quit, and that was because I shared my account with one of my friends who liked to level up my guy. He's since been auto-deleted since I havent been on in four or so years, but it was never a bad game. Repetitive? Somewhat. But it has as much (or more) content then World of Warcraft, which is STILL going strong.

But it sucks now.

I still wonder why the mods don't just ban all of the spam bots that have infested the game.

From what I heard they even owned up to their mistake and brought back the wilderness and free trading... still not enough to make me come back.

I was actually thinking about checking it out again, if I can remember my character's name. How much has changed in 3 years?

Uhm, no. I played that back when I was 10, it got boring once I found this magical thing called a life. But durring that year of my life (until I turned 11) I had managed to get to a level somewhere near 110. Of course I got this magical item called a life so I quit. But to each his own.

Hm.

When I was 11, I thought "life" was playing video games all day.

We had very different values when we were kids.

Would it be in poor taste to say that I still think that at 18? Of course, with the modifiers that music, manga and literature are important additions to a well-balanced breakfast life.

They drove away a good portion of their fanbase by killing the Wilderness and free trading in a futile attempt to stop gold farmers and macroers, and then brought it back when they realized they screwed up. Apart from that, I assume a ton of quests, minigames, etc.

Runescape was a very good game back in the early 2000's. Nowadays, they usually have less than 100k people on at once and no one ever seems to take interest in such an 'old' game.

Yah, RS is kinda on it's decline at this point. Jagex has at least two other MMOs in the works at the moment, one being their sci-fi game and the other being their Transformers licensed game :P

I did play RS for a few weeks and I liked some of it - they had a good crafting system for such a simple game.

Hahahahaha runescape.

I still get on every so often just to see how shitty the game's gotten. Right now, I think it's somewhere between "the CEO took a massive dump on this" and "do the devs even care?" Over 50% of the 'players' on at one time are bots, and the other half are mostly either assholes or people new enough to think that begging will get you anywhere. It might be redeemable, but it's got a long way to go.

Better yet, take it all the way back to 2001 and IP ban every current player. Any legit and respectable people will have to prove they are worth unbanning.
