So anyway, I'm going to reinforce my provinces, then conquer 1 for more land. From then on we shall build up and catch Lankshire off guard and take some of their land, sound good?

Recruited 99 troops in Province 2, I'll be transferring them to 7 once I get the chance to.



Food prices are average right now, it's not ideal for trading, so I'll leave it for now.


Sent a spy from Province 7 to search province 10, I get an info on its 5th unit there, but no nice stuff unfortunately.

Lankshire also attacked Blanche, but failed.


Yeah, I was supposed to transfer units, but...


Finally a different face to rule the land!

We spent another 10 gold on cultivation.


Loyalty boost to 11.

Lankshire did the exact same attack on Blanche again, no success.


About time I did this.

Also sent 33 gold and 144 food.

We need more vassals! Time to send out the informative pamphlets detailing the glories of working for Chrysalis, then see if anyone bites.

(If I remember correctly, you can ask as many people as you want per turn if they'd be willing to defect. It's a bit tedious, and we'll probably only get low-loyalty folks right now, but we can't govern our expanding empire with just Garth and Sarthe.)

I'm thinking of striking Blanche's province 1 the next fiscal year, anyone agrees?

I agree that province 1 should be the next target, though we'll probably need to recruit more soldiers in province 2 first.

I'm going to repaste the domestic stuff I posted a while ago. Mostly I want to emphasize the Defection point other people have mentioned-does it not end a turn to ask someone to defect? If that's the case then is there any downside at all to asking as many people to defect as possible every turn?

Spoiler: Domestic Commands (click to show/hide)

1. Trade for profit as often as possible. We won't see much return while we're still poor, but it should exponentially increase our wealth if we keep at it.

2. Cultivate every territory as much as possible. Not only will cultivation increase our food and therefore our wealth via trade, cultivation also makes good events happen more often. One of the best of these is getting a Pastha to fight for us, and since they're strong and don't need payment we really, really want as many of them as we can get (they only last one fight each).

3. Try to negotiate a Defection for any vassal with low loyalty. Defecting is different than surrendering but it can get us free vassals (which we should always make the lord of a territory so as to get their bonuses, but never Entrust because the computer is stupid) and free territory if the vassal controlled something. This is a good way to take over territory without having to fight.

4. Plunder if the neighbors are rich, but don't try again if it fails. From my understanding the random generation doesn't reset for multiple tries unless relevant Fame changes (gaining or losing more territory) so if you fail once you'll fail repeatedly. On the other hand if it succeeds feel free to continue plundering until it fails or becomes unprofitable.

5. Search if there's nothing better to do. Search can reveal the enemy's fifth unit but more importantly the search items you can find are apparently really awesome. If we have the time to do so we should do it.

From a military perspective Region 1 is a good place to attack because it can only be assaulted from Region 3. However, is there a way to judge the wealth of Lankshire and how vengeful is the computer? Since Molbrew is now our Ally we hopefully shouldn't have to worry about an attack from them and it looks like we could try plundering Lankshire if they won't retaliate. Since Lankshire has been attacking Blanche will neither of those countries have their Gem? Region 1 is the most defensible Territory we could take however I think we should cut into Lankshire territory whenever we get the opportunity and we can strike a 10 from Norwood (7).

My inclination would be to attack 1, 3, 6, 5, 4, in that order. This way we keep the number of our frontline provinces at a minimum and prevent our troops from getting spread too thin. The reserve provinces can then be cultivated to feed and fund the army, search for treasure, etc.

Also... I don't think I *want* to annihilate Blanche... they have been doing a good job weakening Lankshire by repelling their attacks lately. If I destroy them Lankshire is sure to attack me, and only 2 other families are attempting to fight Lankshire then.

We want Lankshire to be fighting on as many fronts as possible. Right now it looks like they have more territory than everyone else combined. Since they've been fighting with Blanche I think we should let them wear each other down. The Lankshire territory we're connected to is 10, I think we should Plunder and Conquer it if we can without turning Lankshire's ire towards us.

Anyway, I believe that we should plunder 10, like what Basque said, and conquer the upper Blanche provinces when we're ready.

I cultivated my crops because I love food.


Now this province is interesting...


My attempt to plunder Province 10 has failed, and probably will fail, so it's best to leave it alone for now.

Also the Court Jester keeps on insisting that we destroy Province 10.

Lankshire also hit Province 5, but Blanche repelled the attack.

Nothing much happened, I just continued cultivating Province 2, and 8 is too poor to do anything.

The restless King Eselred decided to attack Molbrew, but Molbrew managed to hold off the attack.


So I gave 100 food at raised my loyalty to level 2, excellent!


This isn't Recettear, but you can still benefit from the economy!


We spend half of our cash on food...


...and give some to the folks of Carvetti.


Alright, so what should I do now? Recruit soldiers and proceed to attack 1?
