Wow, cool video, I really like how in the end badger passes out because of snakes venom but then just wakes up after few minutes and continues eating the snake.

I wish badgers could have ability to dig tunnels in df... think about it - nothing would be safe anymore, unless you build your fortress inside volcano totally separated from stone excluding supports ... oh but then badgers would dig away supports and your fortress would cave in into volcano, actually nothing could be safe anymore if badgers could dig.

So do I as a matter of fact. I've thus far captured 6 giant wild giant badgers and stored them in a room sealed by drawbridge. Next up I intend to design a recapture mechanism so I can release them on sieges that I trap in my depot area. So far they haven't killed anything and a couple badger men didn't stand a chance against my pigs which they attacked. Of course they both dodged into the volcano so who's to say?

Next stop: badger man entity that uses beast lairs and tiny hollows in hillsides roofed over with wood for sites. If only we could actually define custom sites

Goblin siegers or ambushers seem to never attack wildlife or be attacked by it, so releasing badgers most probably will not do the trick.

I have thoughts of making a "badgery", where you could stuff a critical mass of badgers so that they have not enough elbow room and are just about to go berserk and then throw in some elves or goblins, maybe then the badgers would attack them.

 Even if they could dig, they would need the adamantine claws to dig in rock layers.

Well, you are probably right, it makes sense that casual animals only dig soil layers.

Maybe forgotten beast based on badger could dig stone also, that would be !!FUN!!
