Perhaps skeletons could be used to distract and de-ammo archers.

i love how everyone is discussing the mechanics behind undeath, instead of commenting on 'How many did they kill?!' or theorycrafting on possible weaponization of said flying skeletal birds...

I killed all of the undead buzzards, for no casualties on my own side.

Iv seen people who haven't had a redheaded person in their family for quite a while, and then out of nowhere two out of three of their children have red hair.
What color was the mailman's hair?

I chained skeletal elephants around my yard, they catch ambushers who attack the elephants on sight.  No corpse, no waste of my life, easy detected of gobbo.  Also trained up wrestlers with zombie elephants.

skeletal = no feathers; no feathers = YOU CANT FLY FOOL

By God! Someone better tell the FCC that they need to glue some feathers onto their already airborne planes before they lose lift due to a lack of a down! When are we? The late 1800s when people think feathers are integral to flight? Come on!

It is a well known and consistent fact, that all undead skeletal flying monsters operate in a similar fashion to jets.

That's why they screech like zombies.  It's the scramjets active.  This also explain banshees and the noises they make.

I figured zombie birds would fly something like a bat with a leathery covering over skeleton, albeit a rotting leathery covering, but a skeletal bird..... yeah something else would be going on there

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.
