Hi all, i recently learned DF after have known about it for a long, long time but always postponed learning it because it was such a undertaking :-)

Now that I've "learned" it somewhat i'm amazed at the depth of the game, but the micromanagement turns me off... thus why adventure mode suits me to a certain degree. I still would like to stip down some aspects and i'd like to play the game as a minotaur and wreack havok. I wonder how I can do that though, since only dwarfs, humans and elfs are the only playable races?

This actually just came up in this thread, though they're sort of having issues on getting to control something that isn't part of a civilization.

Couldn't you just copy and paste most of the raws from the minotaur to the, say, elf? Then play as an 'elf'? Speaking as someone with next to no experience at mucking around with the raws.

Well hitting up the mod section of the forum might answer your question, if you want to learn more and dig deep to the depths of the game code then that would be the place.
