In the new version i have seen a nice variation of copper, bronze, silver and iron weapons. My new Adventurer started with a bronze shield and a silver short sword (The alliteration is more deadly than the material). And i found two bronze gauntlets and an iron helmet in the first lair i visited.

Though, i noticed a lack of body armour on bandits.. In their chests they have enough, but they don`t wear it.

/Btw. Bronze is better for weapons and armour than Iron? Just want to be sure.

According to what I read from the wiki, yes.

Thanks everyone, I've seen the various metals in the new version. I'm now wearing an iron gauntlet and an +iron gauntlet+.
