So are explosive mines only on the other islands that you don't start on or something? And how do you get a second mine without credits?

Nah the only thing on the other island is a ship mine currently. There will be later this month maybe early next a cannon mine added to that island, it's third mine is unknown. Explosives are in the city that is furthest away from Harmond on the main island. It's name is Cissna. By the way you can purchase vehicles and drive them to the various city, just can't transport anything on them as a miner.

To explore the sea though requires 20 melds no matter what, at that point you can either purchase a raft from the starter mine and explore (highly recommend against it and the ship row boat) or look around for one of the yellow ships. Being their new Manifest (who currently owns the Monopoly on them pretty much) is selling them for around 100 to 200 gold or so. Should you see my Outrigger in Cissna though, it's value of 1k is for it's novelty only. It is officially the first ever ship found!

So I bought some credits (woo hoo, you get referral credits... unless I didn't use your referral link :-\) and now I have all three mines at harmond, mining gold at starter and things at equipment and bugs. I have 9 melds and used the 559g find to buy some equipment to get my speed up to 39 bph.

You used it unless someone else bought credits. So thanks for the credits!

Oh so you know it gives 1 credit for every 3 someone buys.

Have fun with the new mines, equipment can provide quite the gold income just selling the equipment. Further, with it you can boost yourself even more as you get green equipment and higher.

Is it down? I got to it ~9 hours ago, but now I can't.

I warned you all in the WTFRPG topic.
I told you we're a great and powerful force capable of exhausting bandwidth in a couple of days.
You keep knocking out my Photobucket bandwidth, which shocks me.
I imagine we did something similar to this poor guy's site.

Well its back now and everyone has a +12 hour boost.

Edit: Give me a warning should any of you traverse the Burbana Harmond Sea Route. I'm pirating it at this time to give my ships something to do.

Oh and if NUKE's recruit numbers from Improbable Island mean anything then you are most definitely correct about this mysterious force likely existing especially given the numbers. But to my understanding it was the Host that went down.

Dang you're catching up to me now. 42 bph though will be 43 once I can move some equipment again. Course at 22 melds and will probably be holding for awhile.

I hope no one minds me necroing (and double posting) this old topic back up. If you do then a Mod can just delete or do what ever it takes to knock this back to the depths.

Anwyay I bring this topic back up because if you read the original post I have updated to include some changes. For one I have managed to get a Bay 12 forum guild formed on Minethings and since several players here I know joined, it might be fun for you to join this to have some other B12 players to chat with. The person who created the guild though for me went inactive so PM me here and/or there with your name (server doesn't matter) if you wish to join and as soon as I get a replacement for him you'll be in. Oh and I won't lie in that I do hope a few of you that do join and enjoy will support Japhet; though if you use my recruit link I'll be extra happy, but it won't bother me if you don't, note that I have no clue who my recruits are unless you directly tell me.

Also a new server was just added so I thought now is a great time to bring this up in case some of you like the idea of joining in on the ground floor. You can join both servers though if you wish to give yourself a flavor of brand new rough and ready versus well established (still rough, but it's far easier building up). The new one it's possible anyone could rise to the top through lucky finds or willingness to spend real hard earned money on the game to buy credits for new mines, and is the only way to add mines that don't exist, or inventory expansions on one or both servers.

In the end I only bring this up as it seems a few of you have joined through my link above (at least 24 last check) and I know some of those were fairly recent additions. So drop me a line if you wish, name again is navan over on minethings, be sure to mention Bay 12 or Dwarf Fortress.
