And a round of prayer is awkward if you don't believe in God.
I have a friend whose family is incredibly Mormon, and they pray before every meal. When I stayed the night there once, eating dinner with was possibly one of the most awkward things I had ever done. Possibly because they kept staring at me before and after they prayed due to my sitting there there silently while they all bowed their heads and started talking.

That is the exact reason I despise holiday meals. My uncle and father once got Thanksgiving started at his house via "nontraditional prayer".

Uncle: "Oh, bless us, heavenly father..."
Dad: "Shut the fuck up and let's eat."

MaximumZero....is everyone in your family just pure concentrated awesome or somthing? First, you're the guy from Unbreakable, then your daughter cursed out someone who cut you off, and now you tell us this.

12/15 as a Malaysian Muslim. Embarrassing if I scored higher than the various Christian sects, but then, it's a multireligious country, so Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Catholic/Protestantism were all part of school.

She didn't curse him out. I would've put her in timeout for that. She called him a douchebag. Not a curseword in my dictionary.

Also, we're all snarky bastards, and that was just a good opportunity for my father to show off his comedic timing and disdain for religion, is all. Humor and physical violence is how my family solves disputes, no middle ground. Well, that and racing cars, but I never got into that.

How does 1488 translate for those who are on the long page system?

Most people think Sabbath is Saturday because most of the Sabbath falls on Saturday. However, it starts on Friday evening (also for some reason Opera insists on spelling the days of the week with a capitol letter...)

That's because days of the week are proper nouns, and as such are capitalized. I still remember the mantra about proper nouns they drilled into us back in 1st grade, suprisngly enough.

Huh, must've forgotten that part then. They're not capitalized in other languages I'm familiar with (except for German, but the Germans capitalize every noun).
