What are the miner's injuries and what healthcare has he recieved?

In 40d, you could get an injured dwarf to do work by forbiding all beds and deconstructing the bed the injured dwarf is in. I don't know if this works in 2010, but it might be worth a shot.

Okay, I'll try that... as soon as I'll find the time. Damn studies eating up so much free time... keep your fingers crossed! I'm going to write an exam in technical mechanics tomorrow and I devoutly hope I'll pass.

@Aravin: I have already tried that, setting the pick to be dumped. It simply doesn't happen.

Did you have ACTIVE garbage dump? I dont really think that it wouldn't work. It MUST. Try to turn off his mining labor too. Or try to do trick with melt item.

If that won't work - get a doctor already (any dwarf can become chief medical dwarf and maybe he won't mess up with treatment - usually it's pretty simple - diag - clean - suture - wound dres).
