I wandered around on the ocean floor awhile ago, there's nothing to see really.

Add that tag that lets you see with no eyes.
[EXTRAVISION] you mean. I'm not sure if that would help though, since it basically just gives the effect of having eyes despite the fact that they don't have eyes. It might be obscured by fog as well.

That sucks, this should be a suggestion though, ice caves.

I kept wondering if you would find something in the faint seas. The description of dawn through fog was pretty memorable.

Imagine if there was something to be found in the middle of the frozen wasteland ocean.

For example, a monolithic dwarven fortress carved into the glacier, with its entrance hidden deep within the shifting iceberg crevasses.

figured out what those blocks were.
when my adventurer came back to the faint seas in summer they flash froze around sundown,
encased me in ice more than a few times. after the first layer of ice has frozen, it freezes the z level above it in huge chunks. The chunks load in single frames so they encase you in ice instantly. Toady made glaciers friggin' fast.

some of the ice chunks come with deep holes that lead to the bottom of the sea.

Though they may never come to fruition in vanilla DF the faint seas beg for seafaring travel on boats.
