There was apparently a really big earthquake near Samoa!

I just really want to know if IWM, Vester, and our Australian and New Zealandian members are alright. There was apparently a tidal wave as well is why I'm worried.

Yes, I'm a worry-wart.

I'm fine, don't worry. Thanks for your concern.

You won't be fine when I get my hands on you, oh nonononono.
That last part sounded JUST like that bipedal dinoraur kid in an-awesome-animated-movie-whose-name-escapes-me in my head.

That movie was absolutely great.  The sequels? Not so much.

Woah, that looks pretty bad.  Guess I'll need to wait till I get tomorrow's Guardian till I can actually say I know anything about the earthquake though.

Which earthquake?

Damnit, Padang got really wrecked. She looks like a city after carpet bombs.

Edit: HOLY SHIT! Jambi too, get the earthquake. 7.0 SR

At this rate, Jakarta will get bulldozed too... Damnit.

Ferngully was better.  Hexxus was and still is the most awesome Disney villain ever, especially at the very end when he's the huge skeleton made out of pollution.

That's the kind of villain I'd want taking over the world.

The last month seems to be apocalpyse-believer fodder. Let's see... firstly general unpredictable and extreme weather all through Australia (owing to global warming and such, might have been similar on various other continents but frankly, I wasn't paying attention really - events like dust storms and heatwaves up north, gale force winds and months of nearly unending rain in the south, blah blah), further famine predicted in central African nations, two floods caused by earthquakes and one caused by rainfall in SE Asia... heh. Surprised the streets aren't filling with "SEE? THE END IS NIGH" doomsayers.

Hardly the most awesome month for anyone in general.

SE Asia is always flooded. And Indonesia is almost entirely made up of volcanic islands, they're right on top of the ring of fire.  The earthquake in Indonesia seemed a lot worse than the one in Samoa, though, because of the population density  :-\

Yeah, but the flood ARE WORSE cause of global warming.
And the whole El Nino and La Nina or what version of gender the storm-chief wants to be.

Of course, that's a fkkking 3 earthquake in Sumatra already... One in Minangkabau (west sum.), Jambi, and Bengkulu.

And I'm connected by lineage to the 3 provinces... (I'm a Minang, Minang lives in West Sum., Jambi, N. Sumatra, and also in Bengkulu. We also colonized Malaysian Peninsula, but was trashed by invading Europeans (connection between the colony and the mothercities are lost...)

Have I mentioned that Minang is the most Netherland-like region in the whole country? (There is THREE king, one for political, one for custom, and one for religion. The cities are independent, with their own rulers. War happens. Councils also happen. Very, very UNLIKE Java, which, for the most part, really centralized in a few kingdoms)

Hey, why do I rant here? ::)
