A program has to be specially designed to take advantage of multiple cpu's, otherwise only the fastest computer of the cluster will do any work. Back in the day when I was a student sys admin at the local college for fun I made a chaos cluster out of one of the computer labs using open mosix (really easy, start up machine with boot disk in, and you got a cluster drone) but found out really quickly that unless you plan on doing some serious programming you are rather limited on wht you can do. Although I did manage to count to a billion 30 times simultaniously really fast

i wonder what kind of hellishly powerful machine would be needed to run 10,000 dwarfs in a fortress.....

would that even all be able to FIT? gotta be able to abuse Z-levels like never before to fit that many....

well I tried a 16x16 map, and even with 50 dwarves it was annoyingly slow. FPS drops to 2 every time a dwarf tries to path find to his next task. Guess I don't have a super computer  ::)

/huggles own computer for being able to run a uber expanded fort with 500dfs at a comfy 95fps...

actualy it would be more fun, how much dwarf can you fit in a nanomap :D (normaly it should be aproxamitivly a bit less then the 1/(16^2) of a "complet" map ... and it is even more challanging
and for the multi proccesor, as i stated it alredy it could be done:
1) make you mult processor system (grid or normal not important)
2) simulate a virtual machin on it with mono-core (but a big one)(VBox ie)
3) and play on the virtual machin ...
4) ???
5) Profit
