Turn 17. And you thought it wasn’t coming.
I heal the goblin. He shall be my loyal sidekick, Snamoz!
| Inaulct rips a bit of cloth off his clothing, and uses it as a bandage for the goblin. The goblin does not look any better.
I go back to the depot.
| Armok phases into another dimension, then phases back into the depot instantly. Sadly, his concentration slipped and his feet are now embedded in rock.
I continue sneaking around, looking for treasure!
| Frelock notices a sparkly on the dwarf’s hand. Closer inspection shows it to be a shiny gold ring, with a rather large diamond set into it. Frelock takes it, and the dwarf is too busy to notice.
i explore the tunnel, calling any nearby scorpion.
| Oh, the scorpions come alright. Andrea steps into a scorpion nest! Fortunately, he is immune to their venom, and is only mildly annoyed by their claws.
I take out the ancient-looking gems and hold them up so star/moonlight falls on them and hopefully triggers something interesting.
| Sean holds a gem up to the light from the sky. The light falls onto a mirror embedded in the floor that Sean hadn’t noticed before. After a bit of rumbling, the floor gives way. Sean is now in a pit of snakes, with no apparent way out.
So... I blew a stairway into the earth, and can see a loaded tomb, but I'm not in it, and it's not on the map?
Well, I go downstairs into the tomb, and I don't touch anything. First thing's first, look for obvious traps, duly remembering, as a Dwarf, that stairways cannot be trapped.
| Aqizzar enters the tomb. Marvelous, simply marvelous! Half the kingdom’s riches must be stowed away here! Aqizzar sees a small sign next to a lever. The sign says: “Warning: This lever destroys gold.” Suddenly, DF Newb enters the room …
RTTAI(-666): I look for a random lever to pull.
| DF Newb dismounts from his horse and enters the tomb that Aqizzar found. With a “Hey Aquizzar, what’s up?” he goes over to examine the lever. Aqizzar, enraged by the unicorn added to his name, throws a hadouken at DF Newb, who proceeds to fall into the lever. A faint *click* is heard.
Event: Lava!
Lava flows down every hallway in the fortress, encasing everybody in solid obsidian.
Everyone is dead.
Have a nice day.
It’s over, sorry. To anyone else who might be planning an RTD: Don’t make lots of useless rooms. I’m not sure if the D10 system works better then a D6 system. It does allow for bonuses larger then +1 without making failure impossible, but it may be less fun.
