N-Link Code Crystal
A crystal is grown linked to itself, a singular quantum crystal. This is then taken into N-Space and then sent through a datalink to a computer.
At this point, that crystal can be copied, a Code Crystal. Anything that has the program is linked, allowing communication and the sharing of information through that program. It's first use is in linking a Serf-2 to a CAT machine. The Serf-2 then takes another quantum crystal into N-Space, and sends it through the datalink. This allows the creation of another Code Crystal program. And, thanks to the existence of the first Code Crystal pair, the Serf-2 can return through the GATE unharmed due to being directly controlled by a human's consciousness.
These Code Crystals are key to great strides, as is the method of their creation. Moreover, they can be held in a file together, creating the first wireless Serfs, Serf-CC, Serfs with a particular Code Crystal pair linked together. Each Serf-CC requires one quantum crystal grown and digitized, but they don't have any limits on where or how far they can travel when under a human's control. Likewise, with us being able to retrieve that which we send into N-Space, it is sustainable, though the number of Serf-CCs in operation is dependent on how many GATEs we can make and run.
A short explanation of transferring Quantum Crystals through N-Space
Normally the Hunter is connected to a Datalink. Give we need to sed the crystal down it, it seems an issue. But there is another link to digital space, the person stabilizing it. By making the machine the person uses more segmented, and preparing a storage area for the crystal to get shunted to, the person can make the link more obvious in N-Space, and create a hole which will accept the item they studied beforehand. The crystal is then thrown into that point, goes down the datalink, ad gets shunted into storage. Since they don't have a mind of their own, once they are in the datalink, they are mostly data. Having no mind also means that the N-Space won't actually work against this, so the process should go smoothly.
Nother idea for the pile. This one a revision based around digitizing a quantum crystal then copying it's program. All copies are linked together.
And there isn't anything stopping us from bringing the copies back either, other than the above being a revision and code being more effective for computers.
edited an explanaition, since it was pointed out to me.
Digitization, then Copying it, are the main hurdles to this. Main goal other than that is to remove the complexity tag from the GATE, due to having a way to send in something and get it back afterward. Though SERF-CC would need to be equipped with some weapons to be combat viable, which is not a focus at all, so the combat versions would likely still be complex?
f the Crystal Codes come to be, we have a cheap way to link together machines in a single network, no wires needed. Granted this was mostly an idea I had, and decided to write on a whim. Wheter it's viable or will be done is yet to be seen.
