ArcheAge Unchained is scheduled for release October 15th.

I played ArcheAge back when the original released, and it was honestly some of the most incredible fun I've had in any MMO. It's a competitive open-world PvP experience, with an emphasis on escorting/pirating caravans of trade goods and fighting over massive world bosses. Lots of player interaction which is sadly lacking in most modern MMO's.
Unfortunately, a few months after launch things turned extremely pay-to-win, and it became impossible to remain competitive without spending thousands of $$$ every month.

This Unchained reboot is a completely new set of servers that have been created with the intent of removing all pay-to-win aspects. There is a one time fee to purchase the game, and a battle-pass system after that which rewards only cosmetic items.

The only other complaint I could levy against ArcheAge is that is consumed an absolutely massive amount of time. Being competitive, there is an impetus to log in every day and grind through various daily chores, before hooking up with friends or guildmates to run coordinated efforts, and it's all just quite exhausting. For this reason, I likely will not be getting involved with Unchained. But I would absolutely recommend it to anyone with more free time than myself.

I'd be sort of tempted to get back into ArcheAge without the P2W crap.

But then I remember I don't have the same time for it as I used to, and that one of the most annoying things was the blatant bot use (especially for things like buying land and housing).

Quick update on a couple of betas starting this month.

Crowfall moves into beta August 11th.

Dual Universe moves into beta August 27th.

Both games can by played in Alpha right now for money. DU will cost a bit less if you wait until beta.

Have any of y'all played Salem?
Just saw it mentioned on a forum somewhere while checking if some other MMO had permadeath (it didn't). Salem looks and sounds rather interesting, though it might end up being similar to games like H&H that I've never managed to really get into.

Also, a rather different game called Albion Online, does anyone play it? I can't - I tried. Installed it and started it and it hangs at 1% on the first loading screen. Probably for the best, since for all I know my laptop would explode from the stress of trying to actually run it. :P
It looks like a kinda interesting game, though. Unfortunately there is no permadeath, but from the trailers I watched (not the most reliable source, I know) it looks like there's a bit of fun to be had building empires and trade routes or raiding, conquering etcetera. It's free, too, which is just as well since it probably wouldn't be worth paying money for.
