Snip

I agree, it's why I liked Yahtz and Gabe; Yahtzee would reign in Gabe's waffling and getting off track while Gabe would get Yahtzee to chill and enjoy the silliness and they did it all without any of that time wasting.

Same with Retsupurae, they're silly but they keep on track with their play.

But....I admit I do love stupid fun sometimes, and for that I go for Critikal. His is the stuff I can turn my brain off and go 'hyuk-hyuk' like a yokel to.

Ah yes, the insatiable lust of corn and rice, clearly two of the most erotic foods.

Can't wait for Brave Wilderness to do the bullet ant.
Hah! Speak of the devil. Posted yesterday.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2ssjgRoizs

I couldn't tell if this video was satire or serious.
It's serious allright. Aver the past year, Wilderness has been alternating videos of him going out in the wild to captures something that he is going to be bitten or stung by in the next video.
He has been working his way up through the pain index. The bullet ant is his finale, being the most painful sting / bite on the planet.
His previous video he had a tarantula hawk sting him (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnExgQ81fhU). The episode before that, a velvet ant. Still not sure if he's faking the pain or not. He could be one of those people who have the rare disorder that prevents you from feeling any pain. Don't think so though, he's not missing any limbs, nor is he badly scarred.

DeceasedCrab for that specific brand of snarky humour.

GamerZakh for city-building series and retro gaming.

Shadowserg/ArekTheAbsolute for those crazy No Damage runs of numerous platformers.

For vidja gaem people, I mostly like supergreatfriend (best voice ever, SA person), tietuesday, slowbeef-diabeetus/retsupurae, smiteSA and psychidelic eyeball (SA letsplayers).

For non vidja gaem people, I like hickok45 (sassy old man with guns), forgotten weapons (super gun nerd auction person), AvE (canadian engineer guy that talks funny), and some other things I don't actualy remember atm.

Hickok45 is awesome. Everyone should have a granpa like him.

I do follow Scott Manley for space games like KSP and popular space tech... And thats about it. I still havent developed a habit of following interesting channels.

Wow I forgot all about Super Great Friend... which is odd because I've seen I have NO IDEA how many of his Letsplays.

Hmm I need to refind another guy I watched a lot of... Fiendly or something... He had a pretty great letsplay of Splatterhouse.

There is a guy who I actually don't dislike as a letsplayer and he does games that very few other people actually tackle... But why can't I stand his videos? Because he picks the more monotonous games possible.

I'd love to be a streamer/LPer, but I know the stuff I play generally doesn't garner much attention, and then there's the whole marketing yourself thing. I'unno how the bigtimes get out there.

Well, Jef Major does a lot of obscure stuff but still has a pretty dedicated following. Not huge, but lots of twitch subscribers so he seems to do pretty well supporting himself on it. So there is certainly a market for specialty games if you can hook people in.

Another Letsplayer who is AMAZING but for the life of me I cannot find her (or him... I am assuming her, but it just just be an effeminate male voice) did an informative letsplay of Alone in the Dark... and HOLY GOODNESS She went the whole extra mile and shows the source of every single reference in the game, even right down to showing the exact books the books refer to.

Seriously one of the best letsplays I ever seen.

I used to watch Jefmajor, but I feel as though there was a bit of a quality drop around the time he became a Youtube partner. When he finally switched fully over to streaming, it was the final nail in the coffin.
You should come back around sometime. Some of that old lightning finds its way back into the bottle these days, now that he doesn't have to keep up with youtube's neurotic madness. Should be a stream at 3 PM EST on Monday.

I tend to be rather strict in who I actually subscribe to, generally preferring smaller more hobbyist style channels who just put up videos of themselves talking over games without a lot of the bullshit like intros, end screens and begging for likes comments and subscribes.

My favorite let's player currently is of course Grimith, who has in a way become the standard for which I measure the let's players I watch and his attitude towards the hobby is pretty much the attitude I prefer out of my content providers.

Lethal FelineAn old favorite and friend of Grimith, and almost entirely a streamer these days, linking his youtube due to the fact that Hitbox has gone down the drain and he might be moving to beam soon.
PlumpHelmetPunk Another old favorite of mine.
Auld Dragon Don't watch him so much these days, though I did enjoy the Suikoden Stuff
Veriax
EffingController Good channel if you like...long...hard...Torpedos. ;)
Allaunira
BoboTheVulture and his brother MysteriousJG

Those are the main ones I follow.

The few people I'm subscribed to on YouTube (Though I watch series from quite a few others on a what-they're-doing basis) are for rather similar reasons to Rilder.

Vinesauce Vinny and Joel. (Bad games, corruptions, whatever)
Tad30s (Tends to do Ironman runs of games)
Meridian (Focuses pretty much exclusively on X-com and Heroes of Might and Magic 3/2
LethalFeline (High difficulty setting for games usually)
Robbaz (Silly stuff)
Crowley9 (Older, not well known DOS games and the like. Informative)
Kikoskia (So much stuff, kind of anything)
Byron (RPGs and Fallout)
LateBlt (Not many videos now but did playthroughs of Sierra games. Informative).

There's also others I keep an eye on like but not subscribed to like:
XPGamers (Space games, mods and Space Engineers)
GB Gaming (Formally Gul Gaming. Space games like Sins of a Solar Empire)
DasTactic (Dwarf Fortress and strategy games)
LastStandGamers (Space Engineer creations)
ReformistTM (Mount and Blade and similar)
Lucahjin (Silly Stuff)

I've watched a few others like Gronkh and UdwinLP though my german isn't very good. There's a few others that no longer do videos like DOSBoxMom, Hercrabbiness and Resulka(who apparently has been doing some videos for the past few months, huh).

There's a thread that, while it may be a little out of date, has a whole bunch of let's players and the like listed linked in my signature below. Feel free to add if anyone wishes to.
