It dreams driving around dodging dog crap and think those should not be there.  As it swerve into a ditch, it think there should be an up ramp to get out of this pit. 

Then it roars at the people trying to haul its Prius out with a hemp rope.  It wishes for Halfling companions.

Thus, the original Roads were borne. Concrete roads that existed on no surface and were not surrounding by anything but themselves, miles and miles of endless roads that cut through the infinite darkness and nothing else but the odd ethereal shadows of semi-physicality that occasionally crossed these roads with no regard to an end point or direction.
