I am absolutely fine with people taking their time but it should be posted that there is going to be a delay.

I'd like to give him some time to respond but we should be open to the possibility of getting another player.

Alright, I'm not the thread host or the head honcho or anything but it's time to find a replacement. Even a temporary one. Just something, I don't want this game to die.

I move that we find a replacement for al-Malik. If you know anyone who'd want to play please reach out to them.
Preferably someone with experience but I'm also fine with an enthusiastic beginner.

However in the brief time we've been playing he seems to have updated his additional Emperor Wars mod from our current version so let me see if I can email/dropbox our current version via the original zip.

He didn't give it to me. So that leaves us in a real pickle with only two options unless he gets back to us.

We continue waiting and hope for the best or, less happily, restart the game 9 turns into it. How long and how much hope do people put towards figuring out the password?

I wouldn't be completely opposed to a restart, assuming everyone can firmly commit to a faster pace of play, though it would be more pleasant if we could just get in touch with the guy and get the password.

I've finally had a chance to take a look at the whole Emperor Wars thing, and I think it's definitely something I could get into. Obviously quite a lot of work was put into it, and the results are appropriately feudal.

However, as others have surmised, the save is password-protected. I've tried a number of no-brainers like 'asd' or '1234', but to no avail. That the game quits to desktop after three failed attempts doesn't help with the guesswork approach.


If it's really only turn 9, maybe restarting is not such a bad idea. That's some breakneck pace you had there, by the way. What was it, a turn per three weeks?

If only. At one point I believe we had a delay of two months between a turn.

I vote for a restart. I also vote for the first ten turns we try and play a turn every day or every two days given the complexity of the mod.
