Developer posts under the name 'Chris'. He does alot of releases, but isn't good about posting on roguebasin. HE generally makes a thread on Angband variants for every major release then adds a post for minor releases in the threads.

There are several threads in the angband variant forum about the game. This game combines several angband variants and has the most features of any angband variant I have seen. It has a vast number of race/class combos. If you liked Zangband, this is a continuation of it with alot of features.

Recommended newbies builds
Vampire/Ninja: Very good newbie builds. Vampires 'eat' with Vampiric Drain which generally does more damage than your melee through most of the game. Great to kill uniques with it.
Ninjas rely on stealth and vampires don't need torches. One issue with them is they take alot of damage in daylight and can't function. This is easy to get around. Each town has atleast 1 shop that you can change from day/night for a nominal fee. Ninjas get 'make darkness' skill at level 1. so if your stuck in daylight. you can cast this, then recall to a dungeon. eat mobs and sleep to pass time. I

Any tiles supported? I can't deal with letters and symbols...

there is one that comes with it. you will have to ask in the thread if any others are supported. i think they are.

Can possessed monsters evolve?

I can't tell, on one hand possessors don't evolve, but on the other hand my recall of the warg says it'll evolve into a werewolf with enough experience.
