You could make a firepit and create melted glass to pour on your skeletons for a light armor, and coat the glass in sand to cover the camo aspect.

question, are undead harmed by heat itself? or is it no more than common bones would be harmed?

Eat your fill from her and then raise the crone as a zombie and leave her "pretending" to be dead inside the tent, hide outside and wait for rest to return. When they gather at the tent examining her "corpse", surround it with our minions and attack, try to snipe whoever seems most dangerous with bow as opening move and kill everyone who resists try to take a live prisoner for interrogation, if possible. Try not to scare goat herd away, but if it happens send our owl to follow them, we'll gather them later.

Genius. You might need to leave her soul intact for that. Zombies may not be that big in the 'clever plan' department.

The issue is, we seem to lack self control in the corpse eating department. If I remember correctly, there is a fair chance we may not be able to stop until she is just bones.

Even better, we can have the owl alert us when they are about 20-30 minutes away, and then harden her bones with our Change Object spell. That way, they will find her within the spell's hour duration, and she will not be easy for them to defeat once she has lost the element of surprise.

If we could time delay it, we could use change object to turn her into a thick and sticky liquid as she attacks, Covering them with it before it hardens back into bone, which we may be able to control.

Even if that were possible, we would have to be pretty close by. I say reduce her to a skeleton, give her her own soul and one of the weapons so that she is smart and dangerous, make her tougher to break with transformation magic before the tribe returns, and then get out of there. She should be able to do serious damage, if not outright destroy the remaining Stoatmen. The owl can report back on the state of the survivors, and then we can mop up with our army as we see fit.
