No need to worry too much about the more complicated bits since people could purchase those at a later date and as they are created. As far as choices go, I'd rather keep our current regiment, but changing the name doesn't seem a problem. In the end, I think it was proposed by someone who left the game.

At least the Vniediken part I think is quite good. Besides, I spent like two days nailing the pronunciation.

Okay, so what I was thinking to do with all of the comrade advances is basically just make it so that the player can designate a player as their Comrade for the purpose of the battle. For example the Heavy Gunner at the start of the battle can appoint another player in his squad as his comrade for the round and cannot change it until the encounter is over. For the Loader advancement, the Heavy Gunner will be able to halve his reload time as long as his designated comrades is in cohesion, and opts to spend a half-action to help him reload.

EDIT: It seems like a sort of lazy way to re-implement them, but I figure since it promotes teamwork it's fine. For the advancements that aren't exactly combat advancements, I'll just ask you to either designate someone as your "Comrade" for the day or if you really want to after awhile, just designate one player in the party as your comrade until otherwise noted.

Double EDIT: Looked over most of the advances and made minor changes to most of them, making most of the order's into actions that designated comrades can choose to do. Made certain abilities into actions that would directly benefit both the PC and the designated comrade, since it seems like a good idea. Also changed the Priest so he's similar to the Commissar in the sense he doesn't have a comrade, since most of the advancements for their comrades felt shoehorned in and worked better with just the Priest himself doing it.

Spoiler: Homebrew Advancements (click to show/hide)

What. That defeats the point of Put That Out! if I have to stop driving. You know, not control the vehicle that's still moving that everyone's in, or stop the vehicle that everyone's in so it can be a nice easy target for whatever caused the fire the first time?

Plus, I can't shoot if I'm driving the bloody vehicle, which is what Gunner is for! Bonus to shooting/aiming helps me not at all!

Yeah, I had a few doubts about the Operator abilities honestly. I just put those there as placeholders until someone suggested something better, I actually forgot that we had any Operator's in the party. For Put That Out! I imagined it'd work in a way that the Operator would have to temporarily lose control of the vehicle (Not in the sense you'd immediately crash, just in the sense it'd be risky as fuck to try to put out a fire.) but it'd be a 100% chance to put out the fire. I can just apply it so that any PC's in cohesion with the Operator can spend a full-action to put out the fire, but I'm not entirely sure.

These rules definitely aren't final, I just want to put something rudimentary in place for now until we figure out something better.

I mean, really, there are some characters for whom it's really a good idea for both being effective whilst allowing everyone to have fun, and for their abilities, to simply have a Comrade. It's not too difficult, really, to have Comrades...

Examples are mostly the Heavy Gunner(who wants to spend all their time just bracing the Heavy Gunner and giving him ammo? That's not fun to play), Operator(Operator isn't gonna do much out of a vehicle, and the player's not gonna want to spend all his time in the vehicle being a proxy), and sorta the Ratling(who wants to waste their action so the Ratling might be able to get a shot on some guy when you can shoot him yourself?). Weapon Specialist, Medic, Ogryn, and Psyker could go either way. Sergeant, Priest, and Commissar lean towards no Comrade anyway. Storm Trooper simply doesn't have one.

I think the Sergeant one should just work with the Sergeant having a Vox Caster(why can't he wear it, after all?)

Also, really, to give more RP, I feel we should have to stick with one guy as Designated Comrade(as in, over the campaign/that series of battles), rather than being able to switch back and forth for everyone.

I'd just really rather there not be player-controlled comrades, in all honesty. Maybe there can be NPC's that are intended to be in the story you can use as comrades. None of this is really for sure to be honest.

A lot of the advancements (like the Heavy Gunner's advancements) in my mind are largely supposed to be used as abilities you can use a few times during the encounter and at the most would cost a half-action during one turn on the designate comrades part. If the advancements I proposed don't seem like a good idea at all, I'll just provide stripped down NPC comrades for you guys to use that you can order around IC, but I still have some semblance of control over them. All I know is, that I don't like the idea of most players having more or less a second character they have to control.

I do agree with the last part though, since the idea of switching your designated comrade seemed less appealing as I considered the RP opportunities for decided who'd work with who early on. It's late right now, so I'll take another look at the advancements tomorrow and try to make them seem less shitty though, thanks for the input.

I didn't really realize we were allowed to control them or make them.

Why not have you make them, we 'control' them? Or ask each player individually? I have no problem having two characters to control, but other people might.

Good night, though!

I'd like to thank everyone who complimented the lore written for Vniedik. Taking this opportunity, I'd like to request a redesign of the "Summary Execution" Advance for the Commissar. It makes little to no sense how it works as written. Maybe it should be tinkered with to prevent allied forces from routing by executing a cowardly NPC.

Galvanising Presence seems perfect, though.

Shouldn't have much to do tomorrow, so I'll try to start working on more stuff and probably make an IRC channel, in case people have questions/ideas they want to push.

I think it may just be a lack of updates on the situation. Hopefully the game will be ressurrected soon anyway.
