When Do Chickens Stop Laying Eggs?

When do Hens stop laying eggs? As in how old do they get before they cannot lay eggs anymore?

So will the dwarf with the broken spine recover and use a crutch?

Similar to dwarves, they can still have children up till their natural death date I believe. So, be ready for elderly dwarves popping out babies too?
Anyhow, no form of the chicken's real life equivalent of the human menopause, exists in DF
