I'm done for this tournament too.

Pretty poor overall for me, but at least I didn't burn myself out and I'm kind of excited to go play stabbers and mages on offline tiles.

Unlike previous tournaments where by the end I would rather chew my right arm off than see another god damn Spider Nest entrance tile.

I'm still playing but way more casually and not as obsessed with winning at this point, due to some burnout with the melee bruisers that are the only ones I have won with. However, I'm super excited that I got over 1,000 this tournament, and I feel like I've actually improved a lot over the course of the tournament. I've been playing some casters over the past couple days and have been actually getting to Lair with them, so maybe I'll try some more of that route.

Stabbers are still a complete enigma to me, though. Maybe I'll watch one of Ultraviolent4's videos on SpEn.

EDIT: The videos on SpEn, though a year old, are still very helpful! I got much further than I ever have except that I had my first character die of starvation. Poor Spriggan, if only you would put aside your morals and eat some of those delicious floor corpses :(

I burnt out after my fourth death (involving running a felid between sleeping iron trolls and roaming fire dragons and jorgrun and liches and rupert to scum enough piety for lugonu so that I could scum abyss to regain lost levels). Never worship jivya. Ever. Especially if you need one stat to be higher than your other stats, or don't have endgame equipment. Just going for easy extended combos now. Edit: Unless you need mutations removed.

Welp, a 2 rune Vampire Summoner to end the tournament, probably could've added a third rune if I had better spell selection, so thanks Sif.  Really wish I had gotten Mana Vipers (Or any good hexes for that matter).  Lightning Spire dances+Acrobat Amulet was a kinda fun and ultimately effective combo, though I really wish I could play a Wu Jian character with one of those.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

But yeah, a decent tournament, got the first DDBe win and it looks like I might grab the VpSu high score, so I'm not disappointed.

I should learn the new gods so I don't get stuck my TSO/Zin ruts for endgame. The free rN+++ for Tomb and Mutation immunity just feels too good, though. Along with free switching.

Yeah, I had classes start up this week, so I'm basically done as well.

As I posted earlier, I won Crawl for the first time every this tournament, and secured a second win pretty shortly after that. Looking at my times, it seems that I play very slowly: I only started 8 games over the course of the entire tournament, though a 25% win percentage suggests that a slow approach has its advantages.

Anyway, this was a lot of fun; it was good to play Crawl again after so long.

Aand we're done! Hopefully everyone had fun playing, this version was pretty ok, no major negative changes in my opinion.

I finished 94th, which is pretty good, considering I'm quite dissatisfied with my overall play. Only won easy-ish melee combos, (the hardest being a Troll of Jiyva, which is not exactly a crown jewel achievement), didn't even attempt a Zig nor a Nem's Choice combo.

The Champions are 29th, the Blacksmiths 34th, and the Miners 66th - all in all quite nice, considering there were 142 registered clans.

I really need to play a few hybrids/stabbers/mages before the next version, because my gameplay sense was definitely a bit warped by Gargoyle/Minotaur melee characters. I died a lot attempting to survive in pretty unreasonable fights, forgetting to use consumables, evocables, etc, which I really shouldn't be, considering I'm playing the darned thing since 0.5.2

All in all, a pretty ok tournament overall.

I did a last win at random, playing a DsGl, and tooking a faded altar.....which was Ru. First try for me. I thought it was a hard god, but actually i had a LOT of luck with random things : boots of speed, +14 large shield, claws:3 very soon which allowed me to play unarmed. And Demonic guardian (quickly lvl 3, too) in my opinion is the strongest mutation, as it is both offensive and defense I didn't even had to use one single ability from Ru.
Next tournament, i'll try 15 runes !
