Future of the Mod: 3 votes for next features.

Biologist: Study killed enemies for permanent buffs against that species.
Thaumaturg: Magical items and/or item sets.
Religion Overhaul: Introduce priests and high-priests, blessing of items, and warlock-specific reactions.
Warlock Overhaul: Balance the race... remove rot and fire, add new abilities.
Ore Processor: Adds a refining step to metalproduction, allows fix for slag bars in moods.
Arbalest & Trebuchet Overhaul: Different ammos and special effects, like AoE ammo.
Trap Engineer Overhaul: Boobytraps with AoE, Darthrowers, Unique Trapcomps.
Landmine Overhaul:  Remove Landmines, make changeling to berstling in warpstone lab. Moving, breeding, no toolkits required.
Magic Overhaul: Summon creatures and just MOAR of it.
 Megabeasts: Add a reward, soul and trophy to all of them. Add "revive beast with soul", so you either get a legendary skill OR a friendly megabeast.
Glazing Overhaul: Make metal, gem and ash glazes, allow glazing of each indiviual item. Decorational only.

Biology is leading the poll, and BIOLOGY IS FINISHED :)

I also did the megabeast revival/rewards, which is 5th on the poll, because it also uses a similar itemcorpse system, and it was easier to do both at the same time.

The ore processor I had a look at, but I will have to rewrite every metal-ore, make a second fake-metal ore, make a reaction for each ore, and change all reactions that currently use ores. And since its inorganics, I have to do this for each tileset. And because it is not race-specific, I have to do it for dwarves, orcs and kobolds... in short: DAMN, its a ton more work then I thought.

About the warlocks: Since you are, I assume, removing some of their ranged abilities; I thought you might should give them a better melee caste. I don't know much about the creature raws, thus wasn't able to get very far on making them, but a few ideas.

Instead of an interactions, give the melee class actual bone plates. Something like:

Not quite right, but it is as far as I got.

Since they are mutated anyway why not give them some natural weapons like:

Didn't get very far on that, the way the bodies are put together is... non-intuitive.

No, I was planning on keeping them spellcasters, but as soon as they are injured and flee, they transform into different sorts of werebeasts that are prone-to-rage and go into melee. Priests can block this sort of transformation.

That... Doesn't sound like an improvement. Though I did have a similar idea, a death curse, have a rare caste that drops some kind of boiling rock when they die that summons a demon or something to that effect.

Finished poll item #1 (biology), #2 (ore processor) and #5 (megabeasts) #3-#4 (warlocks and religion, which interlock quite a bit) are next on the list.

I also added the greater dyery, which is not on the list, but was easy to make.

Is there a way to make the warlocks fire projectiles, like the turrets, but have the items they fire have item syndrome? I don't like them having unblockable/undodgeable abilities, nor the way they tend to kill themselves with their spells. I think having them shoot a physical item will prevent that. I'm just not sure if it should be a solid form of their current spell that boils, or an itemsyndrome projectile.

How do you get things to have their own category in stockpiles, like books do?

I think most people turn towards encrusting when they want to add value to an item. You tend to have a lot of gems lying around anyway, and it doesn't require as much effort as glazing. Not to mention starting off with a clay item isn't going to yield near as valuable a result as using some form of precious metal.

Yes, I can to material emissions like turrets that have use projectileExpansion for special effects.

Its inorganics, they all have their own materials "INORGANIC:BLANK_LIBRARY" NAME:(library supplies) and so forth.

not the material type category but the item type. i.e. books instead of tools.

I dont. Books are vanilla, you cant add new categories. I did rename toys to illumination though.

In theory I guess that I could rename books (because fort-mode has no books usually) and use it for "custom tools" or something.
