Aside from artifacts, there is no way you're getting nether cap gauntlets. Why not do savescum testing with a steel chest?

I think this items real power is the ability to at will start stuff on fire. A good grass fire can devastate foes in its path. If you can find a steel chest, put the shell inside and fill with various flammable objects, you now have the ability to fling fiery death at your opponents.
