Author Topic: How could I weaponise an incredibly hot and combusting flame blob shell?  (Read 2712 times)

The shell causes extreme burning to where it comes into contact with, melting the fat, etc. It can be picked up and thrown straight away without any damage or picked up, moved one tile and dropped, three times before the hand begins to blister and burn.

Also, when placed in a container, it slowly causes damage until it bursts into flames and converts food items inside to !!food!!, which when thrown produce an instant ring of fire where they impact, most likely trapping any creatures in it.  I remember when I kept the shell in my pack for longer than I should have, it turned a large silver dagger into molten silver, which I could throw. I don't know if the molten silver would burn, because it wasn't !!molten silver!! and there was no fire around it's impact. How can I turn it into a fearsome weapon without melting my back from carrying it around? Perhaps I could put it in a stone or metal container with tons of meat and retrieve my fire balls at will? What do you think?

EDIT: Melts you underwater. Glanced off a lion with no damage. Can fast travel with it.

what is your question?

I don't know if it will work though, if the chest was in my backpack, could it set fire to the pack? And what's to stop it melting a steel chest? I'll have to do some testing with it. At the moment I'm trying to see if it will burn me underwater.

nothing. (depending on the shells temp)

but melting fat off, (burning in general) is good for your charactor if not prolonged for extreme amounts of time.

Infact there is (maybe was) a thread on how to effectively burn dwarven children enough to make them super soldiers when they grow up. (less fat, incredi-pain-tolerance) but I think another part of that plan was to fill the room with rabbid chickens to beat on the child..

Anyways. I think your charactor will just slowly melt and become disfigured as @#$&. No damage done.  ::)

Nether-cap chest. Fixed temperature. No heatdam point. Problem solved.

Now, of course, you have the challenge of actually acquiring such a chest...

Well actually you can  if you burn your hands fat I believe it makes your hands fire proof

only reason fire is deadly is the melting fat causing bleeding I believe ;_:

Yep. If you survive the bleeding until all your fat is completely melted away, you can wield flaming inferno-goo without problem.

Unless it melts the bone, too. In which case, whoopsies.

having no fat will not make you fireproof but it will make you fire resistant.

you will still die from fires but it will be due to haveing body parts brunt away.

Have you tried obtaining a pair of adamantine guantlets? They might help you to not burn your hands off whilst beating an elf to death with the shell. ;)

No, nether cap gauntlets would be better. They will keep your hands nice and cool. Although there was a similar item in Deathgate (a sword) and neither type of gauntlets helped.

Aside from artifacts, there is no way you're getting nether cap gauntlets. Why not do savescum testing with a steel chest?
