Pendulum. Rise Against if no one's suggested it - opened me up to punk. Immortal Technique. The Pogues. You probably already either love or hate RAtM, and there's The Prodigy and Crystal Method which you probably just failed to mention/lump in a convenient package with The Chemical Brothers like me ;) Otherwise I dunno, most of what I listen to is chill.

On a completely different note, Dvorak's New World Symphony is many kinds of powerful awesome.

Fuck yes it is. It's just about my favorite musical anything. If you're into power metal, Rhapsody's 'The Wizard's Last Rhyme' is written around the main theme of the 4th movement of the symphony.

As The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers have been mentioned I figure Leftfield deserve a mention for both Leftism and Rhythm And Stealth.

Underworld's dubnobasswithmyheadman is also an excellent album.

You also might get on with some Sigur Rós. Not really sure what to link here as I mostly listen at a friends house and own none.

Not really in the vein of anything mentioned but Aphex Twin's work is pretty intense stuff. The double disk album Drukqs being a shining example, really not for everyone, though.

Something quite different, but something I think is very very intense:

Fuck Christ, indeed, dear Satanas.

Quite relevant: http://www.deathmetal.org/news/academics-a-hunting-for-links-between-metal-and-religion/

I think the most important thing to take from Christianity is the trinity. Christ was meant to have died pure, and for our sins. In Heaven and Hell know Christ.

The above band. Blasphemy. http://www.rossbaycult.com/ http://blasphemyritual.webs.com/ From the Vancouver area. Around BC. I am pretty sure these late 30 or early 40 goers are banned from playing in Canada. No I mean it, too many Satanic riots.

Fuck Christ Tour 1993 Belgium http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duwkNcljBlw Singer here is actually back-up because i think the lead left because the venue didn't allow beer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=nuNkp2JfvAg#t=139s Here is an interview before the show with the lead.

Volbeat are fairly intense, if a little heavy.

Holy crap, I just discovered Europe's albums after The Final Countdown. They went for a lot less synthesizer and took a level in badass. Intense songs:

Flames (You'll need speakers with good bass!)

Always the Pretenders (face-melting guitar/bass rhythm)

At the risk of sounding pretty lame:

- Monster Truck
- Danko Jones
- Buck Cherry
- Rise Against

I second Volbeat. They're quite good, if only the local station didn't shit all over new music by playing it five times a day.

EDIT: Based on what I recognize in this thread all the bands listed seem very good. Special props to Audioslave.

Also popping here to thank for all the suggestions. Discovered plenty of great bands I hadn't heard of before.
