Damn it... I been trying to get my dwarves hitched up since forever, but apart from one marriage, there has been nothing like that. Instead, what goes on is my married couples have like 7 babies, including some who are like 120 years old and have a 78 year old daughter in the fort.............

I want more married dorfs damn it..

have you ever tried the - only absolutely necessary jobs get done and everyone else has only one meeting hall to party at?

I had a rash of marriages that way by accident. left my dwarves to run around on a smallish fort from just after a migrant wave till it auto-paused for the next one. If I didn't have the plots pre-set and a years worth of brewing/cooking set there would have been unhappy dorfs over the winter. needless to say having six marriage parties one right after the other a year or two later in game-time ground everything to a screeching halt. especially since the farmers were the only ones that didn't attend.

EDIT: Keas restricted to tropical forests where they belong.  Those evil, EVIL, foul little things.

Edit: The baby murderer became a friend of the fortress, which started a loyalty cascade, and now most of the squad is dead.

Lock the newlyweds in the room before anyone else can get in and party.

I often find that multiple dwarves and animals give birth or grow up on the same tick.
I assumed it was something along the lines of migrants arriving pregnant always being at the same exact timing or similar.

Well, female dwarves can have several babies at once since they have MULTIPLE_LITTER_RaRE. It's just exceedingly rare.
I'm not sure what the probability currently is, but back in the old 2D versions it was a 1/500 chance (so it's probably still the same).

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

If you have a very small meeting hall and a high population, the baby spam is a force to be reckoned with.
Does the actual size of the meeting hall make any difference? As far as I know, a dwarf can "converse" with another dwarf at any distance, so long as they're in the same "room".
