The Filthy Job That Must be Done: Butchery
« on: December 10, 2012, 09:26:24 am »

This is a quick question before I rush off to breakfast and then my final.

Will suitably modified entities butcher invaders and the corpses of their own people? I've been in a fairly macabre mood and I want to run a fort where bone and leather are used in place of metal, wood, and stone.

You can butcher other sentient specief fairly easily by modifying the ethic raws. Youw own species however is allways reserved for burrial, and thus unbutcherably. I have tried various workarounds, but none work.

Well I know that. I want to know if I can butcher captured and killed invaders as opposed to other intelligent creatures.

Code: [Select]
[ETHIC:EAT_SAPIENT_OTHER:ACCEPTABLE]
[ETHIC:EAT_SAPIENT_KILL:ACCEPTABLE]
Should allow you to butcher and eat other species (though not your own). Keep in mind that this will also significantly raise the chance of you being at war with humans, while significantly lowering the chance that you will be at war with elves.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Invaders are treated the same as any other intelligent creature. Just kill them and there you go, goblin leather pants.

You will, I believe, need to do this before worldgen.
It's the only mod I use, as it gives me much amusement.
