Halloween Adventurer
« on: September 26, 2012, 10:26:20 am »

This year, I'm finally too old to go trick-or-treating. Not because I don't want to, but because I'm just too tall to pass myself off as a cute lil' grade 7 anymore. So I can make a lame costume. Originally I was planning to go as Ed Grimley, but after much deliberation I thought it would be cool to print a @ on a shirt (either the authentic curses one or a textual one... probably text) and suit up like a real adventurer.

So what are the essentials I need? A supply of pebbles? A water bottle full of blood? The secrets of life and death? Tell me!

Also, it would be awesome if every Bay12er did this so we could identify each other in the streets and high-five each other, except non-lethal combat isn't in yet so the high-fives wouldn't end until one of us is dead.

I don't think it's an American holiday...

Anyway, the 31st of October.

There's Haloween in America. I don't think it originated, though, so it depends on how you define "American holiday."

I'm pretty sure Halloween was a British thing. Halloween is also pretty much celebrated in a basically, the entire West and pretty much most countries? I mean, we have Halloween in the Philippines. There are a few differences though: Not everybody takes the time to go through the trick-or-treating bs, and mostly it's just "Hey, horror movies on the telly. That's nice." when Halloween rolls around. The important holiday here in the Philippines is All Saints'/All Souls' Day, mainly due to the major Christian influence, and nobody really cares about Halloween, except for some "urbanized" communities that feel Western. Some bars also have Halloween parties around that time, so that's another thing. I get to drink while wearing my wrestling mask and a suit. What's not to like? So that's basically Halloween in the Philippines.

Oh! And a Treehouse of Horror marathon. That's always nice. I love cable.

Following hands are hard to make...
Dress up as Dwarf [Halfdwarf] warrior (with fake beard, of course). Make some monster heads to tied up on belt. Cover self in fake blood, vomit and mud and say it's a dragon's/demon's/kobold's/goblin's/human's ect. Battleaxe, shield and crossbow with quiver full of bolts. Rocks pebbles for throwing. Some meat, waterskin (made out of...[insert animal here]).
When you knock to the door, say: "Give trick or blood for god of blood" or similar, how you like.
   Or dress up as Bogeyman.
