As long as each post somehow involves steel or marble we're still on the very wide rails :P

The rails were probably made of steel.
And they most likely have some connection with the marble quarry.

I think Marx's economical analysis is marbleous, but I find the flux of his writing hard to follow.
Even though it today only applies with limitations, his concepts of class struggle was certainly appropriate for what might veryy well be called the steel age.
