I've had very fun situation in my early days of playing the game. Le's describe it from the point of view of my dwarves.

Urist McExp.Leader: I've ordered you to build a well in our dining room, are you ready?
Urist McMason: Yes, all OK.
Urist McMiner: We've dug a ladder down to the cave lake level, and a hole for the rope with bucket near. Urist McMason has installed a well over it.
Urist McExp.Leader: Is the thing secure?
Urist McMason: Absolutely! The waters of the lake are separated from the inner pool by means of underwater fortifications, I've carved.
Urist McForgottenBeast: (coming out of the well) :trollface:. You're wrong.
Urist McMiner, McMason: FFFUUU!!!

As there were no good military, emergency fortress evacuation aka abandoning had to be used later.

-Create a world? What kind of game asks you to create a world?

-Ordered some areas to mined and channeled.

-Build some beds and create a nice house for my 7.
-What the hell this purple think is?
