Recommended DF mods?
« on: May 06, 2011, 05:33:13 am »

Still a newb to the DF game and community, but I'm loving it so far. I've got Phoebus' Graphic Set and the Genesis Mod that goes along with it. Past those two, anyone have any recommended mods that could be classified as a 'must have' or worth having? I've mostly been playing with the adventure mode, but I do plan on messing with the actuall dwarf fortress mode soon. Thanks!

I heard the My Little Pony mod is good. I have yet to try it though.

I like genesis mod just to go adv mode (for the wanderer's mod) but i think that changes too much the fortress mode (but i really like some of the custom workshops and features)

For df mode i use vanilla with a little tweaks, i have changed the mask a lot and added masks, scimitars, whips and scourges to dwarves

When you learn how to handle the military well enough so that goblins become trivial, you can increase the variety of opponents with the Fortress Defense Mod while preserving all other aspects of vanilla gameplay.

Played through my fifth Genesis fort. And I can say, the Genesis Mod brings life to it all. I could say that [you] just made a sequel to DF or something.

I now have to curse Deon and everyone who helped him.  Genesis is so good I can't play other mods now, they just aren't as fun!

316: You are equally concerned with the next update of Deon's Genesis Mod as Toady's official releases.

==OldGenesis mod== by Deon & TomiTapio. Five wood classes, four leather classes. Nine enemy civs. So much fine-tuning.
