Incidentally, if this hasn't been mentioned, the game will recognize a floor bridge that crosses two continents.
The only trouble is finding a point where they have a one embarks square sized gap.

actually, the game recognizes the site itself as the bridge.

Sorry for the necro, but i don't really think my little discovery needs a new topic.
I've stumbled upon a situation really similar to the one in the original topic, only for the current version.


The place is not as pretty, but it has an upright spoiler to boot in the lower corner of the designed area in the image. Here are the world gen parameters:
