Indeed. I've seen Reganization happen once, and that was when I got glitched on a nightmare start so that time would pass without me doing anything. It took untill 2050 for the Amendment to pass, although it was proposed about five times before that. This was also with We Didn't Start The Fire CCS rampaging constantly, to the point that the election right before the amendment passed had a single Elite Liberal elected to the Senate. The Senate that by this point had 99 Arch-Conservatives in it. Awkward.

I guess Elite Liberal Senator Brown was not let into the Senate's Pétanque team...

EDIT: By the way, the later CCS came into reality in my last game. After two destroyed safehouses, they just disappeared. No more raids, laws changed towards M and L, Elite Liberals took the Congress by storm... I already thought they had bugged somewhere but eventually the CCS appeared again. They just regrouped a bit longer this time (over a year I think).

MORE EDIT: Curious, I checked the source. It seems that CCS becomes active when overall public mood is over 60% Liberal. I think there should be some additional criteria, like Congress having a majority of non-Conservatives and all laws are at least conservative and some must be moderate or liberal.

I love how quite a few of you choose to use violence to further the Liberal Cause  ;)

Violence used to be fairly weak compared to having a lot of sleepers, many versions ago. Now, without using classic mode, it's very difficult to win without some violence...

- Thief: Steals documents and publishes them, sneaks deep into locations to activate their site specials

I just tried a thief playthrough, and I like it.  By stealing corporate files and lab reports, I've used the Liberal Guardian to influence popular opinion A LOT.  Thanks for the info, Mr. Fox.

Yeah, last year one of the focuses for two release cycles or so was making a thief playstyle a lot more interesting.

Right now, jumping between safehouses will keep the police off your back, but they'll never forget about you. I think it should be the case that every month you get heat decay on your Liberals, similar to doing community service. It could be proportional to the amount of heat they're currently carrying (super terrorist guy would lose a lot of heat, and still have a lot of heat, while the lone dude who killed one person might not experience any decay at all). What this would do is it would enable you to eventually hide long enough to shake off the police, which is more intuitive (and less annoying) than the eternal manhunt.

Handling heat... What if heat, instead of sticking to Liberals, would absorb to the safehouse they're in? The safehouse heat would dissipate if raided or if left unoccupied for a while, but the heat would be off the Liberal's backs.

Also, alternative uses for large sums of money have been discussed before. What if Liberals could use funds to spend some time at some Canadian Cabin Village in the middle of nowhere? The player would lose a lot of money for covering up and supplying the hiding Liberal, and would of course be unable to use that Liberal for a long time, but the hiding Liberal would lose heat without risking being raided (perhaps the worst-case scenario would be being forced to return prematurely).

What about spending money on a new identity/fake death. More heat=more money, Better Quality(less chance of failure)=More money. The heat doesn't disappear from buying this, it stays with the person but it is hidden because the person is isn't them anymore. The liberal would also have to keep from blowing his cover, using his stealth and disguise skills.

How about making front businesses actually make money to go toward the liberal cause?

I approve of this idea.

Business fronts could be tweaked to increase income from Liberal fundraising.

But about your suggestion concerning heat: What do you mean, "heat doesn't disappear from buying this, it stays with the person"? Heat has no other use in gameplay than helping the Conservatives track your Liberals down. If a character's heat is hidden, it's practically the same as having no heat at all.

Yeah, I approve of the buying a new identity/losing an old one idea, but it would be much easier to just have it remove the heat instead of hide it.

It means your are buying a new identity with false papers and database entries. Ex: Communist Swine has 450 Heat but he bought fake birth certificates, fake social security cards, fake drivers license, fake medical history, used a sleeper to contact and bribe a guy at the DMV/DHS to do whatever with the computer database; now he has a photo ID that says he is John Smith- No Heat. High level Agents could be able to recognize and detect the real identity, or if the character is in a party with all the other members of the LCS and the lower level law enforcement members encounter them- cover is blown, the heat is on him again.

Violent strategies will lose their only serious drawback if heat is easy to get rid of, so it would be swell if it was limited somehow. I like the idea of cops slowly losing interest as you lay low (or do community service), perhaps this process should be sped up.

The fake identity thing should be REALLY expensive.  Sure, the Liberal Crime Squad could become rich enough to buy one for its leaders, maybe their soldiers, but certainly not for everyone.  Also, what I find weird is that no matter how many people my serial killer Liberal kills, he's never identified by any people in the friendly ( not guarded ) buildings.  I would like to see even Liberals screaming for the police the second they see a mass murder ( you ).  This could be bypassed by getting plastic surgery ( it would be similar to the free clinic i guess ) for, once again, a steep price.  This would undoubtedly make the game harder ( for me ) but more realistic.

LCS heat gains aren't exactly realistic either - you gain less heat and it dissipates slower. For example, if you break people out of jail in real life, expect cops knocking at your door. In LCS, you need to do that several times to get serious heat. If you break people out of jail in real life, the cops'll get bored after a few months of futile searching. In LCS, they'll never forget unless you make them.

About people not getting scared, maybe it's because LCS is resistant to high-resolution photos and are masters in the art of growing beards and so... :)
