Hey guys! Listen to this new and radical opinion:

Women shouldn't be traded around as personal property.

Of course now I have a feeling that someone is going to say the Old Testament says that men own their wives.

Where are the places that a man can still buy a woman?

Ever heard of those times when dudes buy a lady a fancy dinner, and then get really pissed off when she doesn't have sex with them?

This light version of your concept is still quite active in Western society today.

Explicitly buying women: I don't really know =/  That's one of those things I don't pay attention to right now for my own mental health.

... ?  Sorry, I don't think I understand what you're expressing.  Disbelief?

Yes, absolutely.  I strongly suggest reading "The Traffic in Women" by Gayle Rubin.  It's a pretty short essay, and very enlightening.

Not disbelief, but it's just rather wasteful to only sell women.
...Did I say that? Errr.....

Bah, I'm sorry.  You're right, it's much more economically sensible to just take-and-rape.

... OH WAIT

Oh wait, we don't do that because it doesn't create kinship bonds between the trading men.

Because the minute a woman is born, a man owns her, and doing that would be stealing from her owner.

Of course, if she doesn't have an owner because he died or something, it's a-ok =)

... BRB, killing self forever for even saying this tripe as an attempted explanation of a situation =/

Maybe you need to slow down a bit vector?

Anyway, I fail to see how buying brides can be cause for a sudden outrage, while Children are soled as cheap and expendable labor on a regular base. At least a bride can be expected to have a decent future by local standards...

You're more than likely correct.  I'm kind of ragey today.

And yeah, selling children is horrible too.  The fact that various armed conflicts are still employing child soldiers... yergh.  It's disgusting.

Yeah, I only hire the under-16 crowd to do my fighting, because it is far less expensive. You don't even need to offer minimum wage.

Though Vector will pay in maximum rage.
