I'm going to make a 10 z-level pit at the entrance to my fort. A retracting bridge will be over the pit, with doors on either side of said pit ready to be locked. I am then going fill the bottom two layers with water.

Gobbos come in, doors get locked, bridge gets pulled in. Its then time to sink or swim.

The problem with the labyrinth idea is that goblins, like everything else, magically know the best way to get from where they are to where they want to be. So they'll only ever take one path.

Are you familiar with mist generators?  They work by moving one tile of water around very quickly.  I'm pretty sure you can do the same with magma as long as you use magma safe components.

Pit the gobbos in a 1 tile hole and then quickly give them a nice, warm magma shower until they reach the desired crispyness.  What's worse than 2nd degree (to leave the nerves intact) burns over your whole body including nose, eyelids, etc?
