So... a ghost crippled my Militia Commander. Great.

I was overseeing my fortress, as usual, then noticed something roted in the magma forge. My Militia commander right foot. Great, how he fucking lost his foot THERE? He doesn't even uses the forge or have any job related, his only job is to KILL. And now he is a cripple. And I'm not waiting .22 to get he out of that bed. So I search Reports and Announcements and don't find a thing about his foot. How the hell did he lost his foot?

So I go to gamelog.txt and search for him in the most recent lines. The only actual thing that I found is this:
"Urdim Ducimstorlut, Ghostly Dwarven Child batters `Captain' Keskaldodok Aroltud Ullung, militia commander!"

So... he seriously crippled him? how? Anyone can help me with this one?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Also, looking in his medical history, he was only evaluated by my chief doc, don't received ANY treatment, no suture at all, no cleaning.

Violent ghosts rip off limbs from dwarfs.

By Armok, it's a fucking ghost child! And I don't have a clue where his body is, and the dwarfs are taking too long to make a slab for him. The worst part is that magma is useless in this time of need.

Oh, the limb-ripping isn't the worst thing. The ghost will eventually lag your fort to death.

I have a single workshop that no other dwarf touches but a guy named Undertaker. His only jobs are Burial and Masonry/Engraving. As soon as there's a death BAM he's off his ass and slabbing and burying!

If I can make a coffin out of magma for him, yeah, that will satisfy me.

Actually, I found the little brat corpse. Apparently, he and his friend thought it was a good idea to take a swim at the well. Didn't get any contamination drinking cancellation because of the lots of alcohol the fortress have. Gotta empty the well to get the little fucker out. Since the moment he died he's only causing grief.

that's a good idea. Don't know why, but even with my engravers free, slabs take a lot of time to make.

EDIT: They fell with a barrel of dwaven ale. I think they were trying to save the booze. This explains why the child was so mad that ripped the foot of my Commander. They are forgiven.

That's a good idea. And in his free time he'll be developing his social skills, so he'll be good at consoling all the !!bereaved!! parents.

The magma is not for the ghost,  the magma is for the rest of the dwarves,  once they are all dead the ghost can then haunt the empty fort in peace.

Why couldn't my vampire Hammerer eat someone useless, like a migrant? Instead, she went after my only gemcutter.. but sadly there were no witnesses, so I convicted someone's pet duck as the murderer.  It got off easy, with no beatings or jail time.  >.<

yeah man, i abandonned a fort i reclaimed cuz there was a bunch of ghosts from the previous fort and i couldnt for the life of me figure out how to reclaim their bodies
