one of the many great things about this game is the combat system. but really, im tired of diembowling my enemys without them even collapsing in pain!

You could always mod the game to give certain parts a higher pain factor. This can also be used to make bone a bit less hurtfull (it's currently about 50 if i'm right). Alternatifly you could chance a few blood values which will make them bleed out a lot sooner. Be aware however that these things also affect you. So making everything beed out the moment you touch it will make you or your dwarf last for only a very short amout of time.

The whole thing needs some rebalancing. We have people saying make it easier, people saying make it harder. If we make killing easier, you could end up losing 5-20 dwarfs an ambush, and to balance that we'd have to make more dwarfs arrive, and dwarfs train faster, and then people would complain cause they have so many dwarfs coming every season, so it's all rather annoying. It's not very realistic to have disemboweled people running around like nothing happened, but we need some way to balance it. I think making wounds more realistic at this point would make the game harder, but you never know.

This is a platinum warhammer. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. it menaces with spikes of platinum.
there is an image of the goblin Utes Gozrusrozsnus and dwarves in elf bone. The goblin is making a plaintive gesture. the dwarves are striking a menacing pose.
this image relates to the slaying of Utes Gozrusroz

well i dont know what you are witnessing nowadays ..but getting disembowled kinda makes you collapse instantly .. (ok  when your still active kinectic energy took its part .. means you fall into that direction  the higher energy part was going to :) )

I've quadrupled the pain receptors in almost all tissues. From my tests in adventure mode, it worked out quite well. With quadruple the pain, combat is faster and one on one, the first to get in a decent whack will probably win, but when there's a proper melee going on it actually means fewer deaths, because people were getting out of the fight after a couple of bad hits instead of fighting until one of them got their head bashed in.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.
