After a little investigating it turned out one of the drives in the raid1 failed.

jesus, most kids strolling around on the internet have already seen way more "offensive" stuff, trust me. a decade ago when i was a kid i had seen that kind of stuff, back when the internet was way more tame than it is today

so typical. game where people die gruesome deaths? OK! a picture of a girl hinting at *GASP* something sexual?! NOOOOOO!! i guess you guys believe that kids should first learn about death and how horribly and pointlessly people can die and THEN learn about sex. yeah, thats so natural!

You clearly feel more strong about this than anyone else in the thread, so I'll make it short:  Ironic or not, pedophilia [even illustrated] isn't really something some of the posters here want to associate themselves with.  It's something the DF forums have had a problem with before, as well.  I doubt his avatar was chosen with any sort of ill-intent in mind, and it was just a sort of 4chan-esque pun.  Everyone here 'gets' that.  Someone asked him to consider changing it, and they did.  Everyone was reasonable, and no one flew off the handle.  The case was closed well before you stepped in to vent.

i guess there's a history i'm not aware of. i acted on what i knew and i'm not going to restate my opinion to clarify it (nor do i feel anyone cares for it anymore anyway). i wasnt intending to start a fight but, as you said, i do feel strongly about the matter.

Thanks a heap toady, DF wrecked my life with it's addictiveness.. Hmm.. actually, that is more than coincidence.. If anyone else has been experiencing HD or other wierd errors like all  the text on all your programs/desktop dissapearing lately and are running avira(free addition), they updated their build with a serious memory leak issue so you may want to remove it from the system.

plynxis: You may enjoy child porn or whatever, but please dont assume it is acceptable in any way here, suggestive or ironically or whatever, take it to the appropriate forum for debate if your into that stuff. Saying that we should be learning about sex with kids over death is seriously messed up IMO. Death will happen to us all sooner or later, but I hope no child ever has to go through being gagged and rapped(sex with a minor even with consent is still rape).

since you bumped this, i'd like to clarify:

if there's one thing i think the internet needs protection from, its child porn

on the other hand, i dont think manga illustrations (or other styles) like the one mentioned here fall into that category by necessity. you may find my views to be hard to understand, objectionable or offensive. my objection however had little to do with child porn and a lot to do with the reaction to said art.

now, since i've already admitted i am not aware of the history that is probably responsible for people's reactions here, i have also already withdrawn my objection as one that does not apply in this particular case. i really dont care to discuss this at the moment, especially when i have justified my withdrawal. after all i havent seen the actual picture, thus have no objective opinion on this particular matter - my opinion being generic, it has no place on this thread.

on a different note: did you post here to mention something relevant to the thread or the particulars of child porn? it seems you're on the wrong forum when you have nothing to add to the topic and instead ask a random troubleshooting question - not to mention spending the exact same amount of words scolding me for my opinion on a subject twice closed in this thread and prompting me to take my opinion elsewhere. maybe reading the thread next time? thinking perhaps?
