Elves: everyone is at one with nature
« on: April 04, 2010, 07:40:32 pm »

So I know that animals don't attack elves.  My current adventurer is a human with 50 or so animal kills.  Now I've recruited two elves to follow her on a walking tour, and the wildlife is completely oblivious to me.

Is this the way it was in 40d as well?

EDIT: I hope the fact that I "retired as a peasant" in a forest retreat for a while doesn't mean I've gone native!

In 40d, as a non-elf adventurer you would get slaughtered by wild animals while your elf companions pointed and laughed.

so having elves helps you not get mauled by wolves.
then this could mean having goblins would allow you to walk around the underworld with out getting liquefied.

Oh good, then my elven drunk I picked up in the last forest retreat is going to have a use.

To the dorf pulling the lever, the lever is just a lever. The magma pouring out of the mountainside is just a coincidence. To the dorf designing a pump stack from the magma sea, it is just that: a pump stack. No specific reason for it. It will never do anything.
for reasons best knows to themselves, the elves decided to explode

Sasquatches still want to fight... wolves and deer just stare blankly even when I walk right up to them.  Kinda takes the fun out of it!

In 40d, the elves wouldn't be attacked by wolves, but the wolves WOULD attack YOU.

Thus, elves were, as always, useless.

I like the fact we are seriously discussing how to drop dwarfs off towers using  kittens as cushions.

Retiring in a forest retreat actually does mean you've gone native. Your followers have nothing to do with it. It was that way in 40d, too.

So I'm stuck this way, unless I retire somewhere else?
Whoops - no non-hostile civilizations for miles!  It's going to be a long walk.
