Well, the quickest way to an elf's heart is through his stomach.

For a wagon anyway. All dwarves know it's quicker through the sternum.

It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

Why bother getting to their heart when you can attack their mind?

And by "mind" I mean brain, and by "attack" I mean behead.

I think there needs to be something where after you make an agreement to only cut down, say 100, trees you clear cut the entire map.  The elf that comes back to check on the agreement instantly goes berserk/stark raving mad.

Now that's psychological warfare.

With [SLOW_LEARNER], dwarves probably don't sit around and talk anymore. They just stand in the same corner altogether, staring at each other, sticking their bearded lips out trying to make sounds. And giggling when someone actually says a whole word.

Eating wood is just a dragons way to make sure it still has fire to shoot at you later on.

Dragons would have "realistically" had glands near the back of its throat which would have produced some form of flammable gas, as well as a way to biologically spark the gas, creating an explosion or flamethrower-like effect.

If I recall, someone said that they made their depot inside a giant ash statue, just to mock the elves. The ash, of course, came from clearcutting.

Hey, I'm cool with you tying a dog up and shooting it with a ballista if you're short on elves, but there's not need to lie about it to us.

I once built a giant statue of a middle finger in front of my fort out of wooden blocks...

My reasoning was that ash can be useful (potash -> pearlash -> clear glass furniture), charcoal can be useful (steel), but wood blocks have no use other than building the giant 'screw you' statue.

That, and I'm going to build something fun out of ash later.

Q: What do you get when you take 100 clear glass windows, 1000 silver bars, 6700 gold bars, and 18,000 marble blocks?

A: A very large wall.

"Alright, here's Helltooth... Harborfence... Urist, come get GenericBlade... and you. Welcome to the Danger Room. First timers get good ol' Ballswallowed. Have fun and try not to take off your own toe."

I'm pretty sure that was a joke.
