I feel like i should say something, but can't think of anything that wouldn't spoil the mystery. So I will just leave you with a spare 'get well soon' for your life.

Anybody can tell me what's with the sudden abundance of New Year's downer posts? Is this some traditionally consecrated time to whine about one's miserable lot in life?

People talk about the new year as a time of reflection. Given that the universe looks like a bubbling cauldron of <former immune systems> with perpetually melting eyes of desperation and an eternal compulsion drawing you into it to your doom. Well, the sight in the mirror just isn't very appealing... People just don't feel comfortable posting about how much better their lives are than everyone else's so the miserable posts rein supreme!

That made me laugh.

And yes, it's true.
That's because if you share your happiness with others, it doesn't help as much as getting rid of your sadness with others.

I'd say it's terribly selfish. It's as if everybody would start posting "things that made me sad" threads, while keeping the good stuff to themselves, because, you know, it's mine! One look at such a forum would make a die-hard optimist want to slit his wrists.

I think people are entitled to talk of their problems. It's a bit selfish yourself to say "I don't care if you're sad, you're putting a damper on my happiness."

It's the time of year.  The days are shorter, which means it's darker on average, which makes people mopey.

No, australian summer is horrible. HORRIBLE. It is the burning end of the world, that signals the destruction of all hope.

Once tried to conquer Earth, and succeeded! Too bad it got really, really boring, really, really fast.

One day, we shall all look back on this, and laugh. Sorry about the face, by the way, and the legs, and the eyes, and the arms. In fact, sorry 'bout the whole body.

I have a theory that everything goes to shit in winter.

Recent events only confirm this.

Corollary: The reason for Christmas in december is the suckyness of winter.

Winter is awesome.

You get snow in winter, and snow is the most awesome natural substance.

I hate to hear about people getting bullied. Never really been bullied by anyone. Probably because I've been envolved in sports and such all my life. I've made most of my friends through baseball and football (american). I stopped football freshman year though, too political. Never played high school baseball, coach is a moron. I missed playing baseball for the town league last year when I was diagnosed with Hodgekins Lymphoma (type of cancer) and I missed half of my sophmore year. Got over it in June, six months later, but I still sat around for that amount of time. DF and this forum kept me sane. :P  Don't know how I got into fantasty and RP, most of my friends are jocks. Anyway I hate to see people bullied and it's good to hear you have a new outlook on life Rooster. ;D
