I can't sleep sitting down. Closing my eyes makes me dizzy if my back is straight.

Yeah, that sort of stuff happened a lot to me as well back in the day. It stopped after awhile though. I can't replicate that sort of dizziness nowadays.

I'd say I can't fall asleep without laying down, but I know I have managed to sit so still for so long with so little sleep that I managed to wink out for an hour or so without even realizing it.  I don't know if that counts as sleep, because I don't remember even closing my eyes much, just sort of nodding off.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person who paces when thinking of stuff.  At least when I'm at home, I find it almost impossible to do any serious thinking without walking around, but I'm pretty sure it's only force of habit since I can contemplate just fine if I'm somewhere (like a class) where I can't get up.

I like to contemplate in the 'great thinker' pose.

That's why I'm going to grow a big bushy beard like this guy:

That's a definate chick magnet.

You haven't known boredom until double English Literature, first Wuthering Heights then Othello. It's like Purgatory.
Done Othello.  I entered my... hmm... let's call it an Academic Trance for that one.  It seems to work quite effectively.  I also get a vague understanding of what has happened while in this state.  The main problem with this state is, that while I can hear people find, I forget what they said a few seconds later.  This is bad if I'm asked a question.
