This works well with poisoned food, too. I got a lot of Lethys' villages in the second land like that. Sure, I had to build a wonder to reach the blasted things, but that doesn't really matter.

Install the original game in C:\Program Files\Lionhead Studios instead of the default C:\Program Files\Lionhead Studios LTD

It shouldn't make a difference, but the patches will work then.
